Referees are a critical part of the Brookside Soccer Club team that makes sure that the games are fun, fair and safe for the 2000+ kids who participate.
If you would like to be a referee, you must meet the following requirements:
You must be at least 13 years old as of March 20th, 2013. You can also be an adult and referee; in fact we would welcome more grey hair on the referees.
No experience is necessary. We will train you. If you do have prior experience in other leagues, great! However we still would like you to attend the training class so you will understand what makes being a BSC referee so cool.
All new referees must attend the training class that will be held on Saturday, February 9, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The class will be held at UMKC in the Haag building, room 301 (on E. 52nd St. just wast of Rockhill Rd.) Lunch will be provided. At the end of this class, assuming that you pass the test, you will be ready to begin shadowing as a referee for Brookside Soccer.
Please bring a piece of paper containing your name, email address, and phone number (preferably printed from a computer) and bring it on Saturday, the 9th
