New Competitive Program Delivers Professional Coaching and Training That Will Benefit Players of All Levels

August 20, 2012

For many years, parents have asked BSC to develop a competitive soccer program for kids interested in developing their skills and the opportunity to compete against teams from other areas of the city. During the spring of 2012, we asked parents their opinions and found overwhelming support for the development of a competitive program.

This fall, we launched our competitive program with 11 teams in five age groups. All of the teams are playing in the Heartland Soccer League.

Our approach to competitive soccer is a bit different from other clubs in the KC metro area. BSC considers our recreational players and competitive players as a single program. Our goal is to use the expertise and experience of our competitive coaching staff to raise the quality of training for our recreational players and volunteer coaches.

Starting this fall, recreational players will be able to attend player clinics with our competitive coaches during the season. These clinics will help kids improve their soccer skills – no matter what their age, skill-level or parents’ income. Coaches will be encourage to attend as well to learn new tactics they can apply in their own practices.

More details will be posted as dates are finalized.
